Eating in Founty
Founty is where I eat most weeks, so this is a working list rather than a ranking. Four rooms, what each one is actually for, and the questions worth asking before you book.
The short version
Which Founty restaurant should you pick?
Go to Dominium CAFE for a long daytime table with a view of the avenue, A Point for a quieter seasonal dinner, YUZAKI if the group wants sushi, and LOV when you want dinner that turns into an evening rather than ending at dessert.

Know the geography
What people mean by Founty
Founty is the hotel and residential quarter at the southern end of Agadir Bay. You will also see it written as Secteur Balnéaire, and the two names refer to the same area. It is worth being precise about this, because a lot of travel writing treats the entire Agadir waterfront as one dining district, and it really is not.
The practical difference is walking distance. Most Founty restaurants sit along the avenues and inside hotels rather than on the sand itself. If your picture of the evening involves stepping off the beach into a restaurant, you want the promenade further north. If it involves a taxi, a calmer street and a room that is not competing with the wind, you want Founty.
The Founty avenues
Avenue Abdelkrim El Khatib and the streets around it carry most of the district's restaurants and cafes, along with the hotels they belong to.
Hôtel La Suite
Where LOV is. Founty addresses are often given by hotel rather than by street number, which is worth knowing when you send a driver a pin.
The Marina
The yacht harbour at the far northern end of the bay. Different evening, roughly twenty minutes away, and not somewhere you drift to on foot after dinner here.
The promenade
The seafront restaurant strip along the Front de Mer. Closer to the sand, louder, and a genuinely different kind of night.
The 2026 list
Four rooms worth knowing
These are matched to occasions, not scored against each other. I have eaten in cities where four restaurants on one avenue would all be chasing the same customer. Founty is not like that, and the useful question here is which room fits the evening you actually have planned.
Dominium CAFE
The one I suggest when someone wants to sit for three hours and not be hurried.
The hotel's own page places it in the Founty district and describes a menu that runs from breakfast through to aperitif, served on a terrace or inside, with a view over the avenue. That range is the point. It is a café in the continental sense, the kind of place you can arrive at for coffee and leave having eaten a meal, which is rarer in Agadir than you would expect.
It is not a destination dinner, though. If you are marking an occasion, keep reading.

A Point Restaurant Lounge Bar
For a dinner where the conversation matters more than the soundtrack.
Also part of the Dominium Hivernage, and described on the same official page as a contemporary room built around seasonal produce. I read that the way I read any restaurant writing about itself, as a statement of intent rather than a review. The checkable part is the format: a lounge bar attached to a dining room, in a hotel, away from the beach noise. Ask what is actually on the menu this month before you build an evening around it.

YUZAKI
The Founty answer to the person in every group who does not want another tagine.
YUZAKI sits in the Founty Agadir Bay area and works a Japanese menu. It solves a specific problem: on a long trip, somebody always wants a break from Moroccan and Mediterranean cooking, and sushi is usually the thing they name.
One caution, and I would rather say it than pretend otherwise. The listings I checked do not agree with each other on the exact street address or the phone number. That is common for restaurants that have moved or expanded, and it is not a mark against the food. It does mean you should open the current listing, take the pin from there, and call before travelling rather than trusting a number you copied from a guide.

LOV
Our own room, listed last and described as plainly as I can manage.
LOV is a restaurant lounge at Hôtel La Suite in Founty, cooking across French, Moroccan and Mediterranean, with cocktails, DJ music and live performances on selected nights. Published hours are 19:00 to 02:00 daily. You sit down to dinner and, if the night goes well, you are still there when the room changes gear.
What it is not good for: a quick meal, an early night, or a guaranteed show. The programme moves, and anyone who tells you a specific performer will be on a specific date without checking is guessing. Ask us before you build the evening around it.

If you are staying at the Sofitel
Coming out from Cité Founty
A good share of the people at our tables walk over from the Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay, and they are some of our favourite guests to cook for. The hotel lists its address as BP 226 Cité Founty, P4 Baie des Palmiers, so you are already in the district this guide covers. You do not need to cross the city to eat well.
Before you go anywhere, know what the hotel already gives you. Its own pages describe Zaytoune for all-day dining with a buffet, show cooking stations and a terrace lined with olive trees, the Soul Bar for a relaxed terrace start to the evening, and the Soul Restaurant for oriental mezze with dancers and a resident DJ. On a quiet night that may be all you want.
One correction worth having, because a lot of nightlife guides still get it wrong. Several widely shared listings describe the Sofitel club as open every night with a live band until two. The hotel's own page currently says the Soul Club will be opening soon, and lists its Asian restaurant, The Squid, as scheduled to open shortly. Ask at reception for the current position rather than trusting an article written a season ago.

Practical
Planning the evening
Ask about the kitchen, not the door
Plenty of places in Agadir stay open long after the kitchen has stopped. If you are arriving after 22:00, ask what time food service ends.
Send a pin, not an address
Founty addresses are often given by hotel name. Drivers know the hotels. Street numbers are less useful here than a map link.
Do not pair Founty with the Marina
They are at opposite ends of the bay. Choosing one district per evening makes for a better night than trying to see both.
Book Friday and Saturday
Midweek you can usually walk in. At weekends the rooms worth sitting in are the ones that fill first.

Where is Founty in Agadir?
Founty is the residential and hotel district set back from Agadir Bay, at the southern end of the seafront. It is also written Secteur Balnéaire. Most of its restaurants sit along the avenues rather than directly on the sand.
Is Founty a good area to eat in Agadir?
Yes, if you want a calmer evening than the promenade. Founty has hotel dining rooms, cafes that run from breakfast to aperitif, sushi and restaurant lounges. It is weaker for cheap traditional grills, which are easier to find nearer the centre and the port.
Do I need to book a restaurant in Founty?
Book for weekends, for any table of more than four, and for evenings where a specific room matters to you. Founty is not usually as pressured as the Marina, but the good rooms fill on Friday and Saturday.
What time do restaurants in Founty serve dinner?
Dinner runs late by northern European habits. LOV publishes hours of 19:00 to 02:00 daily. Other venues vary and change with the season, so confirm the kitchen closing time rather than the door closing time.
I am staying at the Sofitel. Am I already in Founty?
Yes. The Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay gives its address as BP 226 Cité Founty, P4 Baie des Palmiers, which is inside the district this guide covers. Note that the hotel's own page currently lists the Soul Club as opening soon, so do not rely on older articles that describe it as open nightly.
Is Founty the same as Agadir Marina?
No. The Marina is the yacht harbour at the northern end of the bay. Founty is at the southern end, roughly twenty minutes away depending on traffic. They are different evenings and should not be planned as one.
